21 day ago I was shared this post:

and next day I started the challenge.

I was not satisfied with my life. I wasn’t feeling things are alright. Often I compared myself with others and I feel myself behind. But my mindset and feelings just were making things worse and this is the time to start.

Then I stopped thinking. I recognized all I need is action. Good things come from hard work not thinking. I thought about why I was feeling not satisfied with my life. What is the person I wanted to be?

I listed all of the characteristics of that person. Healthy, successful, reader, writer… After that, I searched for what actions would turn me that person. I found these:

· Eating clean obviously

· Drinking 2 lt water for a day

· Drinking a cup of green tea for a day

· Working out at least 30 min for 6 day of week

· Keeping gratitude journal

· Praying/ meditating everyday

· Reading at least 10 pages book

· Studying my thesis for at least two hours

· Reading /researching about the field I want to work

·Keeping my apartment clean and tidy everyday

· Taking time my self care everyday (cleaning and moisturizing my face 2 times a day, oral care, dry scrub…)

· Tracking these habits everyday and write about them in medium.

So how has it gone so far?

#Healthy lifestyle

I’ve done sports every day. Some days I did pilates another’s I run or weighted training. Doing sports every day changed my body and mindset.

I’ve doing sports early hours of the day. It helps me get it out of my head early. In addition, I recognized doing sports increases my energy. So, I feel more ready for my other task during the day.

I am doing sports at home. It feels more comfortable and flexible. I get help from youtube. There are great communities. For example, Pamela Reif and Lily Sabri are my favorites. It really feels like we are doing our sports at the same time. It’s motivating to have a gym buddy.

In addition to doing sports regularly, I also watch out for my eating and hydration. It going well, too. Actually, I have to admit it is going well more than I expected because I am in love with chocolate and good foods. However, thinking diet foods are not delicious is just a myth. It’s in your hand to make healthier recipes more delicious. You can find here my falafel recipe if you want to try new recipes.

#Success

I set two goal for became more successful person. First of them is studying on my thesis. I tried focus on my thesis at least 2 hours a day. Last two weeks were a little bit trouble for that because I had some communication problems with my advisor. But at the end of this journey this thesis will end. Second of my goal is study on the field that I want to improve myself. I went well because of delays in my thesis.

#Reading

One of my goals is to read at least 10 pages a book a day. I finished the book Atomic Habit. This is a very helpful book for building habits. I highly recommend people who wants to drop bad habits and develop good ones instead.

#Writing

I set a goal that is writing every day on Medium, and I did. Writing every day, especially in not your native language could be hard sometimes. But it was very helpful for me. I motivated myself through writing. I shared the tips that turn me into a more productive person. For example, ideas in these posts very help me in my 50-day challenge and my self-improvement journey.

As a result of just 20 days, it’s possible to change your life. Of course, it is impossible to stay motivated all time. There are times I feel down but the key is being consistent. I was for 20 days. I lost weight, finished a helpful book, and improve my thesis. If I didn’t start the 50-day challenge I don’t think I could be in better condition.

Our life is just in our hands. Just we can save ourselves. I know these words sound cliche to you. But this 20-day showed me that. I have more 30 day and I can’t wait to see my version this time.

I don’t know whether my words affect you or not but I still try to be a sign you need to. Sometimes all we need is just a little sign. If you’re reading this post just take it and do something for yourself. It doesn’t matter what people think of you or believe in you. Just believe yourself.

I’m sharing my life lessons here, and knowing that someone witnessed it motivates me. If you want to support my journey, you can follow me. I will back to you. Lastly hearing from you is always great feel free to comment. Thank you for your time.
