Best vegetarian food recipe: Falafel
Very easy to make at home
Hi everyone! I am in a 50-day challenge for 19 days. One of my goals is to eat healthy food for 50 days. I love to eat good food. Also, cooking is a very fun hobby for me. So, this is a very hard challenge for me. But with the recipes like falafel eating healthy food thinks doesn’t have to be tasteless.
Falafel is a very important middle east food. I think there are very few people who have not heard of this dish. Maybe you ate out. But you can easily make this recipe at home.
As you see in the picture on the cover I used falafels on top of the mixed salad. If you make this recipe healthier you can put falafels on your favorite salad.
If you just want to eat falafel then I am also sharing a sauce recipe that will be good with falafel.
The recipe:
-2 cups chickpeas (soaked overnight)
-1 onion
-2 cloves of garlic
-1 egg
-1 cup of flour
-Half a bunch of parsley
-1 teaspoon cumin
-1 teaspoon of black pepper
-1 teaspoon of salt
If you are vegan you can omit the egg from the recipe. It will still be delicious with this recipe.
Stages
First: Pass the parsley, onion, garlic, and chickpeas through the food processor.
Second: Add eggs, flour and spices to the mixture you get from the food processor, and knead.
Third: Take pieces from the mix and shape them to what size you want. Keep the falafels you prepared in the fridge for at least an hour before frying them.
Fourth: cook in deep oil until golden brown.
For the sauce;
4 tablespoons of strained yogurt
2 tablespoons of tahini
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
half a teaspoon of salt
I’m curious about your thoughts on falafel. Leave me a mark in the comments if it’s a dish you love. I also share a post on Medium every day for my 50-day challenge. If you are interested, you can follow me. I will back to everyone who follows me.
Finally, thanks for your time.
